Looking for a small project to have on the go? Or perhaps you are new to the architectural embroidery style and want a small design to try out? Then this mini Parisian building pattern is perfect for you! Before you begin the embroidery process, we recommend you to have a look at the process video below.
The pattern is inspired by a typical window view in Paris. More precisely a view from a roof top studio overlooking the city. Often times it’s the unexpected angles that create the most interesting and fun patterns.
This pattern is great for beginners of embroidery as the majority of the design is stitched with the backstitch technique. We’ve used only a single strand of black floss to best capture the fine lines. A tip is to keep your Stitches short. The shorter stitches, the better you can control your line work.
At the end you will use the French Knot technique to add some texture. French knots are ideal to create mini florals on balconies. Because who doesn’t love a flowering balcony?
